Resting for the night
ID: Chalky percher
One of the two common varieties of dragonflies spotted in societies garden, these tend to spend the night, resting, in the garden area, few, like this one, on the tip of the flowers or onto the concrete walls. The location of its resting place was so unique that I got pulled towards it and wanted to try some unique ways to frame the beauty. To capture the veins structure and the 4 translucent tips on each of its wings I tried with some backlighting, to get this different frame.
Usually known as an asset for the urban environment, these ‘helicopters’ are usually ruthless in nature and go to the extent of feeding on its own type, but what aids to the urban environment is its ability to feast on mosquitoes, even in the larval stages.
EXIF:

The wings looks nice, kind of glassy look. I think using a higher ISO would have helped to get more details. Nice capture. Thanks for sharing.

The veins look cool. Some hint of light to illuminate the top portion would have been great. There would be more noise in higher ISOs if you are cropping and the lighting is not optimal. So I can understand why you prefer to remain around ISO 400. Thanks for sharing.
