Seshachar's Bush Frog
Seshachar's Bush Frog - Raorchestes charius | Kudremukh Tiger Reserve
As one ascends to the higher elevations of Karnataka's ghats (mainly the Kudremukh range, the Baba Budan range, and the hills of Coorg and Hassan), the distinctive nasal "quanck" of this very vocal species becomes almost ubiquitous. (Audio here - http://www.indiawilds.com/forums/sho...hestes-charius)
This was photographed just below Kudremukh peak, where the cold, wet, wind-swept grasslands were teeming with these frogs.

Roopak:
Do you mean the elevation or the perching height of the frog? The elevation would be somewhere between 1650-1700 m. The perch was a rock about 1 m high, surrounded by equally tall grass clumps. (Had to walk into the the said grass to reach the frog).
Not sure about the rock. It is not the laterite that makse up the coastal plateaux. We noticed a difference in the type of rock as we ascended, some of the rock near the peak was of the silvery-white kind that one sees generally in the Himalayas. Again, I'm no expert, it may not actually be what it seemed like. :)

The colour and texture of the frog seem to match the rock. What is the size of this frog?
-
Males (like this one) are generally 2.5 to 3 cm long.

Good details. It camouflages so nicely with the rock. Nicely captured. Thanks for sharing.

Abhishek , i asked because i remember seeing a frog which looked like this in a pool on a laterite hill near kannur, but that was much lower than the elevations you are talking about and also the habitat is quite different.
