Near Threatened Rufous Rumped Grassbird
The rufous rumped grassbird is classified as near threatened by IUCN list. It has hardly ever been photographed so far - not because of the rarity of the species but due to the difficulty associated with its sighting.
The bird, along with a few other rarely seen grassbirds and warblers, has been recently discovered in a grassland in Joka. This place is just south of Calcutta where the IIM is located.
This habitat is under threat because the entire area is privately owned (by various owners) and construction is going on in full swing all around.
This photograph taken last Sunday is more of a record shot of the bird (on a heavily overcast morning) in its habitat than anything else. There is minimal crop in the shared image.

I have the bird call recorded as an MP3, if anyone is interested please let me know. It's a very large file though.
