Brown fish Owl..!
This guy allowed me to make just one image before he flew off, so couldn't take a look at the settings to change them to lower ISO/ narrower aperture.
f5.6, 1/320sec, ISO 640, EV 0, 400mm, cropped heavily.
canon 60D, canon 100-400 L IS USM, shot at bandipur

Nice one Bhargava, wish he would have given you more time. The eyes of the BFO are amazing, also these birds are quite photo friendly if not distrubed, a clean bg makes this even more interesting. Next time you visit Bandipur make sure you look around at Siddarayana Katte, a BFO is resident there. I have spotted it there during my last 3 visits. Also a CHE is resident at KM Katte.

Nice shot Bhargava. Loved the eyes. You can increase the brightness slightly. TFS

Its good you got it looking towards you. The vertical composition looks nice. I would have preferred to add some space from the bottom to the top, so you can avoid the bright sky. Thanks for sharing.

Nice eye contact & perch.Cleaner BG would have enhanced the image further.TFS

Good that you saw the Brown fish owl.
With a big crop and a f5.6 you will not get a well diffused background. The depth of field will be higher. Either you move in close, use a long tele with a wide open aperture or a combination of the two to get a well diffused background.
