Large-tailed Nightjar
It is always a pleasurable moment when a new species is found from the green valley of Damodar River, Barddhaman, West Bengal. The river banks of both sides are enriched with thick bamboo vegetation which is the best habitat for this nightjar. It is difficult to spot because of its camouflage feathers with dead leaves.

Great to see this image from your area. I like the open eyes. The focus is slightly infront of the bird. Your aperture was also 6.3 due to low light. So the depth of field doesn't cover the entire bird. May be moving slightly to your left would have helped in getting the bird's profile parallel to you and helped more of the focal plane coincide with the bird. Do you have a vertical composition? Thanks for sharing. Look forward to more.

The ray of light on the eye looks good. It is very patient bird and gives ample opportunity to photograph if you do not disturb. Nicely captured. Thanks for sharing.
