The Holy Dip
Hi All,
This was a very unusual sight for me to watch:w00t:.. I just loved seeing this bird in water - happily getting wet. This was just after Sankranthi and i got this at the Lalbagh Pond.
I would also like to know if this is a Steppe or Tawny Eagle ?

Looks like a black kite to me. The nictitating membrane on the eye is visible. A bit more sharpness would have been nice.
Thanks for sharing.

Nice Picture ! Never Seen any thing LIKE this BEFORE Thanks for sharing

Lovely. Nice behaviour captured. The nictitating membrane is visible as it had entered its head in water.
It would have been great without the stone wall. Thanks for sharing.
Cheers,

Yes, this looks like a Black Kite Milvus migrans. You can try sharpening it further. I find the highlights on the rocks a bit distracting.
TFS, look forward to more.
