Nice to see this species. Since by instinct the bird flies away from the people while taking off, the eye contact is not ideal. The head is away from the body. The focus appears to be on the body, so the head is not covered by depth of field. Did you underexpose while shooting or did it in post processing? How much of a crop is this? Thanks for sharing.
