Sneaky, patient pose…
ID: Crab spider
Spotted few white bean flowers, along the trail, and could see some deformation at the tip of one of the flower. On close observation though realized that the deformation was nothing but a crab spider that had camouflaged very well with the flower’s colour and could easily fool any unsuspecting bug or fly, i.e., any of its prey. The beauty was patient and wasn’t much bothered by the presence of us in its vicinity, though it seemed it was also basking in the sun, probably to heat itself up, in the cold wintery morning.

It requires such close observation and good spotting skills to capture these species. What is the white square(?) like thing behind it? Is it part of the spider? Thanks for sharing.

Interesting shot. What is in the background which gives a blue colour? Some dust spots can be seen. The white square looks some kind of basket :001_smile: Is it a part of a prey? Thanks for sharing.
