Rufous Bellied Eagle
Had posted one from this series earlier. Here is one more. One of the rarest birds I have captured on my camera till date.
Slightly cropped.
Canon EOS 1000D, 300 f/4 + 1.4x Extender
SS 1/500 (Manual Mode)
f/5.6 (Was too excited and forgot to dial down the aperture :()
ISO 400
Comments and Critiques welcome.

Tough scene, as you were shooting against the light and in an overcast sky. It would have looked fantastic in the warm light of the early morning or evening. Ofcourse, we can only wish. Composition wise I am fine. As you have mentioned, a narrow aperture would have been even better. Thanks for sharing.

Nice sighting. Good eye contact. Agree the light would have enhanced the composition further. Thanks for sharing.

Lovely sighting Bibhav. Where was this?
Seems a tough scene to expose..you did a good job.

Thank you all. It was very strongly backlit, hence I realised that Av mode wouldn't work here. So I switched to Manual mode and exposed accordingly. Definitely should have dialed down the aperture.
Bhargava, this was in Parambikulam, Kerala in September 2010.

Agree about the aperture. But still a nicely exposed image. The composition looks good too. Thinking whether cropping a narrow strip off the left (to remove the sky at the top left corner) would enhance it.
TFS.
