These Gaurs were grazing peacefully at Periyar Tiger Reserve!...PTR must have a good population of Tigers but difficult to spot them like Kabini or Tadoba.The deer species are also quite aplenty...
Its wonderful to get so many LTM in one frame.The faces of the monkeys have come out clearly which is always very tricky to capture.Never knew Agumbe has so many LTMs!

We could see large herd of Gaurs at Periyar Tiger Reserve.We did not recognise these calves as Gaurs initially.We thought them to be Sambar deers!....but on closer look they turned out to be Gaur...

These Elephants gave us an incredible show at Periyar Tiger Reserve.......they were protective of the young one and never allowed it to wander off.

Barking deer looks similar to the Duiker antelope from Africa.Smaller compared to the spotted deer and very elusive.I think you have photographed it while it was on the move.Good capture.
