Where was this photographed? Without the grass on the left cutting across the tongue, this would have looked much better. However, one can't do anything about it, except for shifting positions.

This was from Bhitarkanika in January. I had posted an image from this series earlier.
I agree about the bright grass.
I hadn't expected the tongue to reach out that far. Lack of adequate knowledge of the animal in this regard shows. A learning nonetheless.
I believe this image follows the one you posted long back. That image was much better in terms of composition and eye contact. I guess the smiley is apt considering what actually happened when you were shooting this. :-)
Good to see Lizard with big...flicking tongue.. yes.. image is well clear, except.. some grass, but I don't mind it...
The low angle and the details are nice. Agree about the grass. Its good you got the tongue in full. Thanks for sharing.
