Nice scene. Good to see elephants with small calves. It needed some contrast and sharpening. Be cautious photographing against the light. Often you get lens flare.

great... thanks... actlly it was pretty foggy then... hence the whitish patch in the top right corner... but still the sharpening helped []
Sharpening doesn't have any impact on the lighting.
I changed the black point.
When there is fog, the meter gets fooled and underexposes. So overexpose by about 1/3rd to 2/3rd stops depending upon the fog. Then increase the blacks. I use lightroom. Photoshop is one good image editing software.
When you photograph using digital, you can see a histogram and understand whether it is over or underexposed. Digital has made our lives a bit simpler.
