Default Crested Serpent Eagle with prey

This was in Kabini last November. Our jeep was stationary as we were eagerly listening to calls when this majestic bird landed on a tree and happily feasted on its prey.

Thanks roopak! I've cropped it a bit too avoid some disturbance being caused by the leaves.

Lovely sighting. Agree with Roopak. It has already finished the head. Thanks for sharing.

Wow nice moment captured. Good eye contact and nice to see it holding the snake in its beak. Wish the light was from behind you. Thanks for sharing.

Nice image Saajan. The snake's head seems to have been chopped off first as rightly pointed out by Roopak.Eagles sometimes skin the snakes and then eat but not always. Nice behaviour captured. Agree about the light. Thanks for sharing.
