Default Crested serpent eagle with prey

This magnificent crested serpent eagle had just caught its prey when we happened upon it at Dudhwa national park.

Lovely image.I like the composition, leafy branch included; as it is generally perched on leafy trees. Thanks for sharing.SaktiWid

Nice image of the eagle holding onto what seems like a snake. Agree, it does seem far. Thanks for sharing.

Nice pose and eye contact. The eye doesn't seem to be in critical sharpness. Seems there was a shake. Did you click from a running gypsy? Thanks for sharing.

Looks like some kind of snake is in the talons. I agree that it is far off. In bird photography apart from long lenses can't be praised enough.

Your right! I have reached the proverbial dead end of my 70-300mm lens. This was taken at 300mm and from quite a distance, so performance is really stretched. New lens required for such shots...and yes this was taken from a gypsy, but stationary. Could have been better focused.
