    Default Pond Heron in flight

The pond heron had taken off from the ground level and was approaching a higher perch.

Looks like one of those super heroes with their long robe spreading out when they land . Nice image and lovely wingspread. Wish you were more to the right or the bird had turned a bit more towards you, would have helped in getting the left wing in focus too. Thanks for sharing.

Nice flight pose. The wing spread looks nice. The whites are well exposed. Maybe using a higher ISO and a narrower aperture would have helped to get more DoF. The eye contact is nice. Thanks for sharing.

Left wing not being in focus is a depth of filed issue. One stop narrow aperture would have been better here, however that would have required pushing up the ISO. Thanks for sharing.

    Thanks guys.
Agree regarding the use of narrower aperture here. F8 with ISO 640 would have certainly helped. The action was quick leaving very little time for setting change. I needed to anticipate the situation much earlier than I did on this occasion.
