    Default B2 in 2009

This huge male tiger was the dominant male in the chakradhara, banbehi, mirchahani areas till it got dislodged by the Mahaman male. He has been given a name B2. Though I hate calling tigers by names like changu, mangu, bablu, etc etc like a dog, but this name B2 is very popular and is widely used. I saw him approaching and decided to try a closeup.

Canon EOS 1D Mark II, Canon EF 400mm f2.8 L IS USM at f2.8, 1/250 sec, ISO 200. Full frame. I missed a full frame camera as I was struggling to fit it into the frame without cutting any part. I then decided that it is better off to clip the ear than the mouth.

    Look forward to your comments.

    Cheers,
    Sabyasachi

It's a nice, tight portrait. Agree about the ear, rather than mouth. I used to see B2 in his prime. His brother B1 used to rule the Amanalla area. Rajbehera was the area of the other brother B3. I never saw the last one but shall post pics of B2 and B1 when I return.

Thats a very nice picture, very close, there is so much calmness in his face, it would have made a complete picture with the ears, better luck next time.

Ah, the living legend ! In my recent trip, I only got a "hind shot" of the King walking in the Chakradhara grasslands (my only sighting) ...walking into the sunset, but what an image it made.....

Good one Sabyasachi! Its a tight composition for sure.
The color saturation does not work for me though.
