    Default Malabar giant squirrel

In last 2-3 days I was roaming around in Kochin and went to see the water falls in Attharpalli town.

Instructed the driver to entered the jungle towards Tamil nadu border in search of elephents, The jungle was huge with lush green vegitation. Spotted black langoors and this giant squeirrel. There are lot many of these in jungle.

Was having my flight back to Delhi in the evening so did not spent much time in the jungle and missed the action shot.

Canon 7D, 100-400, F7.1, 1/320, ISO 200 handheld. Brighten up little, cropped to make vertical composition.

The image needs to be moved to mammals section Ashokji. Nice image, love the bushy tail. Thanks for sharing.

Good eye contact. The vertical composition looks nice. Wish the background was less bright. The tail looks nice. Thanks for sharing.

Nice to see an image from that region. It is part of the buffer zone of Parambikulam Wildlife Sanctuary/Tiger Reserve.

The image is against the light and hence getting details on the fur is a challenge. The bushy tail is like the one we use for dusting in the car.

The black langoors that you mention are Nilgiri langurs.

    Cheers,
    Sabyasachi
