    Hi All,

    Captured this beutiful butterfly in Yeoor Hills of Thane. Full frame image without any edit.

    Canon 550D with 18-135mm Lens

    TV : 1/1000, AV : 5.6, ISO : 400

    C&C invited.

    Nice composition and colours. You could have used a narrower aperture like f6.3 or f7.1 to get more details. Placing the butterfly a bit more to the right on the rule of thirds would have enhanced the composition further. Thanks for sharing.

    Looking at the 1/1000 shutter speed the image should have been sharper. Please check if you uploaded an image which is longer than 1024 pixels or larger than 300kb size. In such cases, the software automatically resizes the image and the quality drops.

    Thanks Dada !!! In general , I'm getting softer images, what could be possible reasons & how do I improve upon it.

    I'm mostly using live view, does shifting to view-finder help.

    In live view you need to do the focus manually as the AF in live view mode is very bad. Better to use the view finder and change your focusing points to place it on the subject and then half press your shutter to focus. Then click. If you are using live view mode, then due to our body movement, the subject moves in and out of the focus plane. So better to use the optical viewfinder.
