Default Is this a Gaur or Elephant?!

We were coming back from Gavi(Periyar Tiger Reserrve) to Moozhiyar and we were stopped on our tracks lirerally. My friend was driving the car and he said there is an animal about 300 meters in front.I said elephant and my freind said Gaur.......I managed a few pics making the half opened window glass as tripod as the light was very low.The hump like part would suggest it to be a Gaur. But it was so huge I thought it was elephant. If you watch the part of the body in front of the hump;it doesnt look like a Gaur. What was this?A Gaurephant?!I have a few more shots which I will post soon....

It is a Gaur. Can tell from the tail and the hump. Seems it was a huge bull grazing. Thanks for sharing.

Garephant? Wow! You have even given a new name.

Its clearly a Gaur. A big one though. The ridge, tail, pelvic portion, skin etc all clearly says Gaur. However, people do get confused. Once we saw two cars parked and when we reached there, they said tiger and pointed out at a rock. There we saw a beautiful leopard.
