Never seen this, but it appears to be a caterpillar. Would require confirmation. Any other angles?

Not a beautiful species. The second image perhaps shows a part of the cocoon? Trying to learn everything will take several lifetimes, if at all it is possible.

Thanks Vikramji,it is a Giant Red Eye caterpillar(Gangara Thyrsis).It is also called Punky caterpillar and lives on coconut leaves........
