    Default Bonding

It was nice watching a tigress and her grown up cub showing affection. I would have liked to move a bit towards my left so that the faces of both would have been visible. Unfortunately, there was no chance. Ofcourse, I am happy with the catchlight I got in the face of the cub.

Canon EOS 1D Mark II, Canon EF 400mm f2.8 L IS USM, EF 2xII ie. at 800mm, ISO 200, f5.6, 1/1250 sec. Slight crop from bottom and right.

    Look forward to your comments.

    Cheers,
    Sabyasachi

    Hi Sabyasachi,
Nice shot and documenting of social behaviour. I like the "head under neck" position. Kinda gives the feel of a "human hug" equivalent... (is my imagination going wild?? )

    Would love to see more...

Sorry. Forgot to mention. This was in Bandhavgarh. I have been photographing the mother for several years in the same area. It is always nice to watch the affection between a mother and child. Every now and then the cubs will come back to the mother and rub their face and shoulders. In this image the eye is open, but in the subsequent images the eyes are closed.

Moments like these are like icing on a cake. Being there with the right lens and having the light in the right direction is the cherry on the icing! Amazing shot! A little more space on the left would've been ideal.. Thanks for the treat Sabyasachi!
