Default White tailed eagle : Juvenile

    Dear All,
Made a deepawali visit to Taal Chapar to primarily to escape the noise and smoke of Delhi and also to see the rarely seen white tailed Eagle which had been spotted in the Sanctuary. The eagle, one of the largest raptors in the world is primarily a seabird of the far-northern hemisphere with its range spanning from Greenland to Siberia.
Vagarants have been spotted in Kaziranga, Uttarakhand and also Nagpur. What this bird was doing so far from its range is a mystery.

Lovely sighting. Nice pose and eye contact. The habitat displayed looks nice. Is there a slight tilt? Thanks for sharing.

    Dipankar,
Lovely record of this juvenile white tailed eagle. How many of them did you sight? With more and more people observing birds, we may get to know the birds better. That stone pillar seems to be its favourite perch. Hope I will get some time next month to visit Tal Chapar when I am back in Delhi. Thanks for sharing.

    Cheers,
    Sabyasachi
