    Default Nano at Nagzira

Shot this at Nagzira WLS earlier this week.

People prefer to take their own vehicles ,however unsuitable they are , inside the sanctuary . This is mainly because one can stuff as many humans as one wants in a personal vehicle and it's much cheaper than the gypsy .

Out of 15 cars allowed inside the park , we counted only 2 gypsies going in .

Gypsy owners and drivers are local villagers . They are deprived of their rightful income.

Tourists are also not skilled at off road driving and animal behavior.

This fellow , on his way back ,held up the traffic since he was just too scared to drive past the tiger even with all windows rolled up! This left the animal agitated and people in the open gypsies vulnerable.

Very interesting . So the tiger was lying on the road, and this fellow was scared to drive past it?

So all private cars are allowed in the sanctuary? They even allowed a Nano? When was this photographed? Thanks for sharing.

The route system in Nagzira is not circular. You take the same way back. The nano guys actually got bored of the tiger sighting after 10 minutes and went ahead! By the time they came back, a group of 5-6 vehicles had gathered to see the tiger . The tiger too had moved from the bridge to a location behind all the vehicles. As park closing time neared, more vehicles joined the jam with the drivers of the smaller vehicles refusing to move since the tiger was in plain view a few feet away.

This was taken just a few days back.18th Nov.

thats very funny & interesting too. but by seeing the photo attached the tourists are enjoying the tiger show, all windows open & the driver side against tiger. still funny all together.

The challenge is people think a jungle is like a zoo safari. So when they see a tiger or elephant, they panic. if the tourists remain within the car, then it won't disturb the tiger. All the heads out of the window and chattering with excitement, the tiger gets disturbed.

It is better to allow less number of vehicles than move ahead like a convoy in these route systems.

The tourists without maintaining the minimum code of conduct may escape in the jungles of Peninsular India and some other forests, but invariably invite their own peril particularly in Corbett, Kaziranga, Manas, Rajaji..........
