Default The Call of the Cicadas....

We were coming back after a 3 day trek to the Agastya mountains and passing thru the Peppara wildlife sanctuary. It was 630pm and we were about to reach civilization. But then the Cicadas started this call........Used my mobile to record and used Wavepad to amplify the sound.....It was alomost dark and in the middle of the jungle all alone(others were little faster!)with tall trees all around.Little scary for sure......

Loud and clear. Hearing the cicadas calling, it immediately gives you a feeling of being in the jungle . Thanks for sharing.

Nice recording, This reminds me my power line work in Sahyadris when I was working in Power sector. We use to go deep in the forest for power tansmission pylon construction these invisible creatures suddenly starts rubbing there fins to creat this sound... as if there is some sort of timer, that they start in tandom... Thanks for sharing.
