Default Beautiful flame of forest flowers

Flame of the Forest is a medium sized tree also known as Palash. In earlier days these flowers were used to make gulal and colors of Holi festival. These natural colors are good for the skin, unlike the chemical colors that are now in the market. Photographed at Singrauli, MP.

Nice image. Slightly lowering the brightness would be great.

Please check the the post no. #49 in the country notebook http://indiawilds.com/forums/showthr...?t=8852&page=2 for M. Krishnan's writings about flame in the forest.

    Cheers,
    Sabyasachi

    Nice image.
Reminds me of a nostalgic Bengali song by Lata Mangeshkar:

'O Palas, O Simul, Keno ey mon mor rangaley,
Jani naa, Jani naa, Aamar ey ghum keno bhangaley...'

['O Palas, O Simul, What made you colour my soul,
I know not, I know not, Why you broke my sleep...']

    Thanks for sharing.SaktiWild

Beautiful flowers. The bright orange flowers have added colour to the dry jungle. Thanks for sharing.

Saktipadaji, thanks for sharing the beautiful song.
