    Default Tiger in Bandipur

This is from my archives. I think I had posted a image from this series before. This was photographed in 2010 in Bandipur. This was my first tiger sighting in south india jungles . This male is 'Ram'. He was sighted after a long time when this photograph was taken and so the guides were happy to see him back. He came through the bushes infront of our gypsy, then walked side by side and then crossed the road. Since he was quite close for my 100-400, I tried to go for a side-on composition.

    Canon 50D, 100-400mm L IS USM, ISO 800, 1/200, f6.3, hand held, full frame.

    Comments and critiques welcome..

Lovely image and distinctive chin. Sometimes the limitations of lens can be a spoiler but you have converted that into composing a nice image. Thanks for sharing.

Great capture, good eye contact, and nice portraiture of the tiger. What is that red spot on his forehead? Thanks for sharing.

Interesting composition. The smooth flowing curved line from the right top frame to the head is nice. The eye contact is nice. There is a cut in its forehead.
