..this brahminy kite appeared to be drying off...perched on the big mango tree at the far end of the property....and it was more of fluke that I saw this...when I just peeped out of a window of my house.. in passing........
..this is at a distance of over 20 meters from where I was....and in such situations..the Bridge Camera was best suited to record this...
Bridge cameras are not so much favored wild life photographers but in circumstances like this...where the distance cannot be crossed..the bridge camera is ideal...
...at least thats what I think......not sure if many agree with me.....
of course..the mega and very very expensive lenses would do better at this..I suppose.....
Sony hx200v (bridge), fixed lens, 1/160, focal length 144, f5.6 and no cropping.

Wonderful sighting of this colourful raptor.You have certainly managed to capture good details of the plumage using the bridge .The subject is very well lit.The important thing is that the end result certainly justifies the fact that you did not miss a good photographic opportunity.Nowadays there are some excellent bridge cameras available which are a boon to wild life enthusiasts.TFS

Good image of this elegant and colourful bird. Eyes, bill and head turn look nice. It takes me back to my early childhood in a remote village of W.B, when it used to swoop down to take away fishes from the basket during netting of our large tank. For last two decades I do not find them there.Thanks for sharing.SaktiWild

Any camera at hand is better than no camera at all. At times in difficult terrain, large camera and lenses cannot be carried without lot of difficulty. In those situations, these cameras help.

Remember to rest the camera on some support, so that the details captured are better.
