Khaleej Pheasant
This image is that of a female Khaleej pheasant. Corbett National Park. I don't have too many shots of this species as they are not easily photographed.
Canon EOS 1D Mark II, EF 400mm f2.8 L IS USM plus EF 2xII TC i.e at 800mm focal length. ISO 400, f5.6, 1/40 sec. Full frame. The light was fading when I found them. I parked the vehicle and after sometime they came slightly closer.

Wow... this is a real stunner...... the wings, crest,throat feathers are so sharp.....!!!! looks almost like they are artificially pencilled in....
I just love that red patch around the throat.... the color looks so vibrant....
what time of the day was this taken...???

beautiful capture...I think by removing hind part by 2", this composition will look more beautiful
