Default Typical call of the Indian scops owl

Typical call of the Indian scops owl (Otus bakkamoena). Recorded with a Nokia mobile phone. the sound is feeble. As usual request patra sab to see if it can be improved on. Recorded on calicut outskirts.

I amplified it a lot. The challenge is that according to laws of physics, the intensity of sound is inversely proportional to distance. Your recorder (phone) was at a distance, so despite the call being loud the recorded volume was level was lower. I tried to increase the overall level.

One good thing about the recording ability in our handheld devices (phones) is that anyone can record and bring the sounds to us and make our experience alive. Ofcourse, these sound recordings can't get into professional films due to various reasons. However, it increases our overall understanding. So please keep on recording and sharing it here.

    Cheers,
