Default Dream came true| Peacock | Kabini

Any wildlife photographer will have the desire to frame a dancing peafowl, well... Many times I have missed this opportunity, there are times it was just there, in a fraction of seconds I missed it.. My dream finally came true this time.I always wanted to photograph a dancing peafowl and frame it.We saw 2 different peafowls dancing around to attract a mate. This one here had around 6 peahens around him Thanks to our driver Raja who spotted this from a distance and switched off the engine well in advance.

    Exif : Canon 7d + 400 2.8 IS -2/3 Stop, F: 2.8, 1/800, ISO 400, Eval metering , Beanbag held.

Lovely colours and details. Nice eye contact. A perfect image for a post card :-). Nicely captured. Thanks for sharing.

Nice to see this. In the initial days I badly wanted shooting peacock dancing. It used to be always with bad backgrounds or far off from the vehicle in places like bandhavgarh, kabini etc. Then I realised that one can get to see peacocks in parks in delhi. I have spent many enjoyable moments tracking them in 2002-2003 in Delhi.

A bit more depth of field would have been good. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the feedback, yes a lil more DOF would have added to the image.
