The great leap captured in wonderful perspective and lovely background.TFS
That's lovely. Love the high leap captured here. Wonder why they moved away from Satyamangalam. Is it poaching pressure? Is it want of better forage? Did the grasslands in Satyamangalam get degraded because of what-so-ever reason? Or did they simply multiply in number and moved in to another area?
How big is the herd in Mudumalai?

Breathtaking view. Great vertical leap of the female, looking straight. The dribbling pose of the male is equally attractive. Superb composition. Thanks for sharing.SaktiWild
P.S.: How far is this place from Masinagudi? Krishnan has observed 'stiff-legged' vertical leaps.
Thanks all for comments
Patra sab: Herd of 5 females and a male. the tracker informed me that there were only 2 a few months ago which used to be spotted along with a large herd of cheetal, more seem to have joined. I have heard of similar records from bandipur outskirts as well.
Shakti da: this is in Masinagudi. close to the Singara road.

Seems it was quite windy and rainy. The high leap of the female is nicely captured. Good to know their numbers are increasing in Mudumalai. Thanks for sharing the information.
