A colourful bird. Liked the eye contact. Slight less space on the right (framing with the stack on the right frame) would have been good. A slight wider aperture with higher shutter speed would have given more sharpness. Thanks for sharing.

Slight head turn would have given a glint in the eye. I agree with Mrudul that slightly less space at the right would have eliminated the negative space. You can post an larger image with upto 1024 pixels on the longest side so that we can appreciate the details better. It is interesting how these kingfishers swoop down and catch the fish. I guess it is perched on a pole erected by fishermen?
