Preening feathers is very important to keep themselves free of pest as well as keep the feather clean. You need to reduce the colour temperature. How much of a crop is this? Thanks for sharing.

This is one of the most difficult birds to photograph for not only is this very small but extremely agile. The overall composition is nice. For such agile and small birds a high shutter speed often produces good results. In this case, a high SS would have produced a lot more details all around - especially around the open wings. Maybe a higher ISO would have given you a higher SS
