    Gavi which falls within the Periyar Tiger Reserve is abode for a large no.of elephants.We saw this group across a river and slopping mountain......

    The herd of elephants of varying sizes; male, female and young engaged in feeding grasses and succulents on the slope at different elevations is the beauty of Periyer. Wish you had the chance of including little stretch of waterline at the bottom. Nice capture. Thanks for sharing.SaktiWild

    Thanks Saktiji for your valuable comments....

    Roopakji we didint stay overnight this time.But I have stayed their earlier.Stay allows you to look for animals at late evenings and early mornings.......The normal route is to come from Vandipariyar.But now a days we prefer the other end to begin.(Angamoozhy,Pathanamthitta).But the roads are very bad for about 30kms in that section......

    In this image the elephants look miniscule amidst natures grandeur.Indeed a new and unique perspective for viewing elephants.Lovely capture.

    Nice image Sankar. Its a nice perspective, instead of focusing on a single elephant you chose to include the habitat and part of the herd. Definitely paid off. Thanks for sharing.
