Why isn't the eye in focus at f8?

I probably put the leg as the focus point and because of the angle bwn me and the subject, the antennae got in focus and the eyes needed still more DOF.

Different composition. The texture on the wall adds to the composition. If the eye was in focus it would have enhanced the image further.
