Charmadi Ghat

A view of the hills near Charmadi Ghat (Dakshin Kannada district, Karnataka).

This ghat offers some of the best views of shola-grassland habitats in Karnataka. The forests in this image are part of a reserve forest adjoining the southern edge of Kudremukh Tiger Reserve.
It was raining at the time of clicking this image. I am beginning to really like the 100mm focal length for compressed landscapes. I have occasionally used this lens for landscapes in the past, but over the last two months in the Western Ghats, this was the only lens I used for landscapes.

The many layers in this image gives a perception of depth. The forests look lovely.

The best lens is the one you have when you need to click. Having many lenses but unable to carry those into the field means nothing.
