An eye contact - Indian Wolf

This is a photo from my archive. It was taken during my first trip to Kuldiha Wildlife Sanctuary, Odisha (November,2012).
We were on our way to a nearby dam inside the forest and suddenly I saw a creature standing right in the middle of the road and staring at our approaching vehicle. At first it seemed like a stray dog..but as we went closer, I realized that it was way too big to be a dog, it was the Indian Wolf ! Before we could go any closer, the creature vanished inside the bushes within seconds. This made me a bit disappointed because I was just about to take a picture but, that was my lucky day! Just, as we got close to that spot where it was standing, I looked towards those bushes with a hope that I'd get to see it for one last time. And then, I took this picture
