Difficult to say, and yet it may be the Sundarbans or adjoining area. As the crow flies, it is very close to Kolkata airport.
During this part of the year, the tiger targets the fisherman going to the forest by boat for catching crabs in the river after obtaining permit. The tiger keeps vigil on these boats and sometime comes swimming and attacks the fisherman. Possibility of tiger attack is much more when the fisherman gets down on the river bed during low tide looking for crab-holes and catching crabs. This is not covered under permit issued.
    Thanks for sharing.SaktiWild
