    Default Baby Nilgiri Langur

Eyes reflecting many generation of a species distrust and fear of humans.Unlike the hanuman langurs, these species disappeared helter- skelter into the thick canopies beyond the minute they saw my 100-400mm appear, probably associating it with the guns that have decimated their population.Their body parts are used in local medicinal concoctions said to cure many bodily ailments.Canon 60D+100-400mm FL180mm F/7.1 ISO1600 1/250s.Periyar Tiger Reserve.Sept afternoon 2014

I had experienced the same reaction in Parambikulam National Park a few years back . Good eye contact. Is the focus locked on the leaves at the top, please check. Seems it was quite close? Thanks for sharing.

You got a nice eye contact. I remember these fellows to be extremely shy and hiding behind the branches the moment they saw my long lens. I guess they were mistaking it for a gun. Did you click a close up as well? Thanks for sharing.

Nice. Certainly an elusive, difficult to photograph animal. Did you manage to make any more images on this occasion? I have always been curious about the similarity of this animal's coat colour to that of the lion-tailed macaque's.

No doubt very expressive eyes with some amazement, just like a human baby. Looks like, may be, about one year old. Colour of the crown and the ruff has come out well. Thanks for sharing.SaktiWild
