Nice to see the the details of the inside of the mouth and trachea, in particular of the Dog-faced Watersnake. In our younger days we have seen this snake in East Midnapore, now Checkered Keelbacks mostly.
You are choosing your subjects so nicely, wish images would come out still better. Thanks for sharing.SaktiWild

Rare pose photographed. It seems the AF point is locked on the bamboos on the right. Checking the AF point and focusing will help to get the subject in focus. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks Saktipada sir and Mrudul Mam.

The snake head was on the bamboo stick, i took few shots attaching one of those. Suddenly the snake moves his head up and open mouth, without delay i took the record shot. It was my first snake shot.

During my bird photography i saw a snake in front of me i jumped over it and one leg entered into the mud. I was happy i saw the snake for my subject of photography. I did not know the species or it is venomous or non venomous. Without fearing and taking precaution i took the shot. After shot i asked to local people the name of snake they told me it is water snake. then i searched in Google, found the name is Dog Faced.

After shots i took decision to go back by jumping over the snake. I took 30 mins to jump over the snake. No one with me. It was memorable moment for my life. There was no way - one side mud with water and another side was stiff land with bushes.

i know the shot is not clear not sharp and presence of extra objects like bamboos and one plastic bottle and plastic bag. But during shots when i took his mouth and one photograph with tongue. i decided to share.
