    Default Variable Bush Frog Calling

Raorchestes akroparallagi with its vocal sac distended. This is the same individual as in the previous image.

Ideally the camera should have been higher for better eye contact in the image. As this was on sloping ground, it wasn't easy to assume an ideal position to shoot from. However, I could have tried holding the camera higher up and using live view to compose.

Canon 500D, Canon 100mm Macro USM
    SS 1/200
    Av 16
    ISO 400
    Built-in flash
    Full frame image

    Thanks, comments & critique welcome.

Great colours and details. This angle gets the vocal sac in focus and gives a different perspective. Nicely captured. Thanks for sharing.

The colours are lovely. This is an interesting angle. The flash has overpowered and hence the details in the vocal sac is a bit less. I am loving these beautiful documentation. Thanks for sharing.
    Cheers,

    Thanks all.
Sabyasachi- I tried firing the flash at lower intensities, but while the rest of the image got dimly lit, the blown spot on the sac still persisted. So in this situation I decided to compromise the highlights on the sac to get the rest of the image bright. What was needed was a diffuser, unfortunately I had no time to even fashion a makeshift one at that moment.
