Default Malabar Pit Viper (Green morph- dorsal markings)

    Trimeresurus malabaricus | Siddapur, Karnataka

I made an image from this angle to show the black dorsal markings of this species. The markings are most distinctly visible in this green morph. They are present but less conspicuous in the brownish and yellowish morphs, and almost invisible in the orange morph. This image also shows the characteristic triangular head of a pit viper, which at its base is much wider than the neck.

Lovely. That's a typical viper pose. The triangular head comes across nicely and the black dorsal markings are visible clearly. Was this a Male?

Bibhav- Given the huge size of this individual (close to 3 ft in length), speculating that it was probably a female.

Beautiful details. The black markings stand out well on the light green colour. The branch on the left and the leaf on the right frame it nicely. Nicely captured. Thanks for sharing.

nice one abhishek, the markings really stands out...and they can be the source of trouble many times...people confuse Russell vipers with small indian rock pythons ..while some people get bitten by the russells, many pythons get thrashed to death.
