    Default Sariska Diary Nov-14

    Saw this small cute little sunbird in our garden and couldn't stopped myself to click him.
    They are very agile and very difficult to focus and capture , they move so fast that by the time you are prepared to push the click button they are off to other branch.
    Canon EOS 7D , f/6.3 , 1/1250 , ISO-200 , -0.3step , Sigma 150-500mm @500mm.

    Nice to see the male in breeding plumage. sunbirds regularly visit and sometimes zealously protect some preferred nectar bearing plants in gardens and backyards like the bottle brush and red powder puff also hibiscus. If you wait near one of these you will be able to get some good images. Late mornings and afternoons is a good time to catch them and while feeding they are very tolerant of human presence.

    A very colourful bird. Agree with Roopak, waiting at a place usually helps as they might come back to the same perch. Thanks for sharing.
