    Default Malabar Trogan ---Female

Nikon 7100+300mm+1.4tc ISO8OO 1/40s Bhadra Feb 2015 evening.Spotted it in an area of the forest where the thick canopy allowed very little penetration by sunlight. The male was also there too on an adjacent tree.Could manage to capture them both during one of their momentary pauses as the flitted continuously from branch to branch.

Mridul, tiger sighting is very few and far between as is leopard sightings. The Bhadra wild life sanctuary is adjacent to the Bhadra reservoir which is a source perennial water supply to the denizens of the forests .It never faces the problem of water scarcity. They have 25 tigers but unlike Kabini these are rarely sighted as the water source is accessible from all sides of the forest and there are comparatively very few tracks for safari. As you know animals are generally sighted in their movement to and fro from their water sources. The Bhadra however boasts of 300 species of birds which is many more than Kabini.

Nice sighting of a colourful bird. Light appears to be low. Lifting the shadows would be good. Thanks for sharing.
    Cheers,
