    Default A Bemused Bison from Bandipur

    This lady was comfortably ambling along when she suddenly came to a standstill, having found herself cut off from the rest of the herd ,by our safari vehicle.June2015 evening Bandipur.Nikon 7100+150-600 FL150mm ISO640 F/8 1/500s.

    Good specimen.Tall, length good and light coloured. Nice semi-lunar horns, much black hair on the throat. Nice capture.Thanks for sharing. SaktiWild

    A bit more brightness would strengthen the image. The underparts have gone a bit too dark and lost details. Her right foreleg is bent as if ready to take a step and move away.

    I just returned from Rajasthan and while driving I was wondering at the big horns of the cattle there. Those horns are even wider at the base than the buffalo horns. Gaurs do have good horns. The horns in this image look sleek. However, I feel the most impressive sweep of horns are from the wild buffaloes.
