    Default River tern

Ranganathittu bird sanctuary. This is from my archives.

Canon EOS 1D Mark IV, Canon EF 400mm f2.8 L IS USM with 2xII TC, f8, ISO 640, 1/1250, full frame image. I shot this from a boat with my Gitzo tripod and wimberly V2 head.

Extremely fine and exquisite detailing. One can see through and beyond the breathing hole on its upper beak. The setting sun reflected in the eyes adds to the magic. Thanks for sharing

Lovely close up. The sharpness of the 400 2.8 can be seen here. Nicely captured. Thanks for sharing.

Close enough to pat its head and brush its beak... The power of the lens shows up in this image..one would think what can I possibly compose when I do not have even half the bird fitting in the frame, this image is the answer...lovely showcasing of how portraits can be made... thanks for sharing.
