    Nice low angle shot, Shyamalaji.... reminds me of myself ... a lot of my friends in central and northern parts of India call me Murgi ... thanks for sharing.

    Nice image and eye contact. I like the composition. I always find the feathers of the francolin a bit tough to capture in detail as that need depth of field as well as higher shutter speed as the bird keeps moving. This francolin has got interesting patterns on the lower ventral side.

    Murgi is a lot different than the peacock which is the vehicle of lord Murugan.

    Nice pic shyamala. this is a Grey francolin (Francolinus pondicerianus ) and a spur on the leg usually indicates a male.
