    Default Cinnamon Bittern...

    The surprise package.... we were heading back home after our regular Sunday Morning Birding. That morning was very very special as we saw so many species of birds that day.
    To list a few are
    1. Black Bittern,
    2. Common Kingfisher
    3. White breasted Kingfisher
    4. Open Billed Stork
    5. Cattle Egret
    6. Cotton Pigmy Goose
    7. Spoon Billed Heron
    8. River Tern
    9. Reef Egret
    10.Curlew
    11. Sparrow Lark
    12. Purple Heron
    13. Pheasant Tail Jacana
    14. White breasted water Hen
    15. Red Nacked Falcon.
    16. Black Winged Stilt
    17. Lesser whistling Duck
    18.Little Grebe

    Lovely sighting. Beautiful bird.You seemed to have a virtual birds paradise close to home.The focus seems to have locked on to the blades of grass in front of the bird.Thanks for sharing.

    Thanks Roopakji, we were looking at the purple herons fighting at far distance. And this fella came out of grass near by road at Dabhari village near surat, Gujarat, Its large paddy field intermingled with grass land.

    I was experimenting with different focus point selection methods & types of 7DMII so yes out of some seven -eight odd images this was much better.... learning in progress.

    Good to see this bird. Which AF point were you using for this shot? When the bird is small in the frame, the AF point covers a large area and the focus is not precise. You need to carefully study it to understand the limitations. You could have bumped up the ISO to use one stop narrow aperture for a higher depth of field. Thanks for sharing.
