    Default Frozen mid air

    ID: Common Mime
Not a regular sighting for me, a Common mime, but whenever I spotted it, I couldnt manage to frame it. This time too almost missed it, or did I?
Spotted it in one of the inner areas of Ovalekar Wadi, far off from me, while capturing a less active Blue Oakleaf. With macro lens attached and hardly a chance to change to a zoom lens, as this Mime was highly active, didnt want to miss out another chance to frame it, so tried out several shots of the restless flutter-er when I could get this frame

    EXIF:
    Canon 550D
    Canon 100mm macro
    F/4
    Shutterspeed 1/1000
    ISO 400
    Handheld, No Flash fired

Location: Ovalekarwadi Butterfly garden, Ghodbunder road, Thane.

Good you could photograph it in mid-air. The high shutter speed has helped. An higher ISO would have further helped to freeze the motion, maybe next time . Thanks for sharing.

Had really bad experience with ISO 800 with my Canon 550D, so I avoid anything higher than ISO 400

Looks like suspended in air. I agree that ISO 400 is optimum in the 550D. It is always better to use a lower ISO. However, if there is a rare sighting then I won't mind the noise.
