    Default Gecko Buster!

    Gecko Buster!!
White Throated Kingfisher with a Skink kill..
Though they feed on fish but unlike other kingfishers white-throated kingfishers are not deep divers and do not spend significant amounts of time underwater. This species mainly hunts lizards, insects, rodents, snakes, fish and frogs. Predation of small birds have also been reported. This one is a huge crop that's why there's a noticeable noise & loss of detail in the uploaded image!

Great sighting. You got it nicely with the gecko seen so clearly. Liked the catchlight on the eye. Wish it was closer. Thanks for sharing.

Nice sighting. The kingfishers are patient and when the find one such prey, they immediately catch it and then thrash on the nearest rock or hard surface. Wish you were a bit closer to this fellow so that there would have been more details in the image. Thanks for sharing.

    Cheers,
